Fuji Xerox is involved in a large number of research areas. To facilitate the understanding of this research it has been organized into four functional groups. The following is an introduction to the four areas of technology that support Fuji Xerox's business operations. The underlying aim in each case is to provide products and services that can assist our customers in building an environment for the creation and effective utilization of knowledge. We are constantly engaged in new research and development to mobilize our accumulated technologies and know-how to further our business vision the "Open Office Frontier." We also strive to continue delivering innovative ideas, with the aim of realizing an office environment that is more open, and in which people are connected through better communication.

We will introduce an imaging/printing technology with xerographic technology at its core, capable of coping with the challenges of high-speed, high-quality imaging and network on demand.   We will introduce a service/system technology capable of promoting the effective management and utilization of documents, the sharing of knowledge, and collaboration in the ubiquitous society.     We introduce our material/device technology and system technology that enable you to handle a large amount of documents easily and securely. We also introduce our evaluation and analysis techniques that form the basis for technological development.   This section introduces various technologies that aim to reduce the burden on the environment, ranging from energy and natural-resource conservation technologies for copy machines and printers, to technologies for improved coordination between hardware and software, and technologies that take into account the entire life cycle of products.
